Though I was looking for something a bit more in the relationship/male-female dynamic, and though this book did cover that area to a degree, Ellsberg covers a much broader application of Eye contact in the personal and professional areas. The book is easy to read, very interesting, and a good resource on the topic. For some reason it is heavy on this so-called "evolutionary biology", which has no bearing on the study and application of eye contact. I don't fault Ellsberg himself for this: there seems to be an emphasis in this area in a number of other contemporary books and authors. It is rather interesting to note that older books, say 20 years or so, which discuss eye contact and body language in general, have to such discussion of such "evolutionary biology" whatsoever. Take it with a grain of salt.

Good book. Nice read. Too much time spent on relationship part though. I wanted more info about power, influence, and motivation regarding eye contact. Left me wishing there was more. Was it good? Well, yea, but since there's not much on this topic, we really have nothing much to compare it to. It WILL get you thinking more about eye contact and when you observe other AND yourself, you'll be more aware of eye contact and learn/train to be a little better at it than most people.

Very good read, covers business, dating, and friendships with an objective and rational viewpoint, backed up with research and interviews with people from a diverse background.

Oh, to have read this book in my youth. Alas, Michael was not born. I now better understand my past.

I've always had an interest in body language and eye contact, and was delighted to see a book that was focusing solely on eye contact. I thought it would be chock-full of studies and scientific information, but it was mostly just full of personal quotes and anecdotes.

Mostly reminiscing the accounts of the author's personal romance. Nothing substantial.
